Job summary

San Juan Care Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to oversee resident care and supervise nursing staff from 5pm to 5am. The role includes planning care, collaborating with physicians and therapists, and ensuring safety compliance across shifts.

Ideal candidates hold an active RN license in New Mexico, with a current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain one. Prior nursing management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS/CPR certification required or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in nursing management is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedures for charting and incident reporting.
• Follows company procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
• Documents changes in patient conditions, including nutritional issues, infections, skin conditions, weight loss, or other changes.
• Uses the Quality Life Manual to identify, place, and monitor patients in appropriate programs.
• Notifies relevant departments of room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for resident care and directing nursing staff. The RN is expected to develop the plan of care and collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants. The RN will also monitor assigned staff to ensure that all safety regulations are upheld.

Charge Nurse RN will provide nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies as well as state, federal and local guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in practicing state.


• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to acquire one.


• Experience in nursing management is preferred but not required.
