Job summary

San Juan Care Center is seeking a Charge Nurse RN to lead resident care and supervise nursing staff. The RN will develop plans of care and collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities include charting, incident reporting, narcotic controls, and rounds with physicians, while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local guidelines and center policies.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in practicing state.
• BLS/CPR certification current or willingness to acquire one.
• Experience in nursing management is preferred but not required.

• Follows company procedures for narcotic counting, pharmacy orders, and restraint reduction.
• Documents any change in patient's conditions including nutrition, infections, skin conditions, weight loss or other changes.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Document and notify applicable departments of any patient's room changes, LOA, new admits, or discharges.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for resident care and directing nursing staff. The RN is expected to develop the plan of care and collaborate with physicians, therapists and nursing assistants. The RN will also monitor assigned staff to ensure that all safety regulations are upheld.

Charge Nurse RN will provide nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient's needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies as well as state, federal and local guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current RN license in practicing state.

• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to acquire one.

• Experience in nursing management is preferred but not required.
