Job summary

Quinault Wellness Center in Aberdeen, WA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our interdisciplinary team and deliver safe, compassionate care to individuals receiving substance use disorder treatment and MAT services.

The RN will perform MAT dose evaluations, dispense medications, administer vaccines and phlebotomy, and conduct ongoing nursing assessments while coordinating with providers to support recovery and ensure HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

Quinault Wellness Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team and play a vital role in providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care to individuals receiving substance use disorder and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services.

This is more than a traditional nursing position. As an RN at Quinault Wellness Center, you will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team working alongside multiple medical and behavioral health providers to assess patients, support treatment decisions, administer medications, and help patients move forward in their recovery.

The RN will have a strong focus on MAT and opioid treatment program (OTP) services, including medication dispensing, patient assessments, and MAT dose evaluations. You will use your clinical judgment to evaluate patients, identify changes in condition, monitor treatment response, and communicate important findings to prescribing providers and the treatment team.

Your day may also include phlebotomy, vaccinations, vaccine management, laboratory and point-of-care testing, medication administration, patient education, and ongoing nursing assessments. This position offers an opportunity to use a broad range of nursing skills while developing meaningful relationships with patients and contributing to their long-term health and recovery.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and ongoing assessment to patients receiving services at Quinault Wellness Center.
• Perform MAT dose evaluations, assess patient response to treatment, identify clinical concerns, and communicate findings to prescribing providers.
• Administer and dispense medications, including methadone, buprenorphine/naloxone, buprenorphine, and other medications as ordered and within the scope of practice.
• Collaborate closely with multiple providers and an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate safe and effective patient care.
• Perform phlebotomy and blood specimen collection, urinalysis, breath alcohol testing, and other clinical procedures.
• Administer vaccinations and assist with vaccination management, including reviewing vaccination status, identifying needed immunizations, maintaining vaccine records, and ensuring proper vaccine storage and handling.
• Monitor patients for changes in physical, emotional, behavioral, and clinical status and promptly communicate concerns.
• Provide medication education and help patients understand their treatment plans and medications.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Safely manage, account for, and document medications and controlled substances in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, providers, counselors, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the care team.
• Provide compassionate, culturally responsive care while maintaining appropriate professional and therapeutic boundaries.
• Maintain compliance with applicable federal and Washington State regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
• Support a safe, respectful, recovery-oriented environment for patients and coworkers.

Qualifications: REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed and in good standing in the State of Washington.
• Minimum of three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience.
• Previous experience in substance use disorder treatment, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), an opioid treatment program (OTP), addiction medicine, behavioral health, or primary care is strongly preferred.
• Experience with medication administration and/or medication dispensing preferred.
• Experience performing MAT dose evaluations is preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy, vaccinations, specimen collection, and clinical testing preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple providers and an interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, 42 CFR Part 2, and applicable Washington State and federal healthcare regulations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a busy clinical environment.
• Must be dependable, reliable, and maintain regular and consistent attendance.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where patient needs and priorities may change throughout the day.
• Must maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License and be insurable through the organization.
