Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5 East Inpatient Pediatrics unit on a per diem/part-time basis. The role requires nursing leadership, patient assessment, discharge planning and collaboration with the health care team.

Responsibilities include administering medications, assisting physicians, documenting care, and participating in quality and safety initiatives. Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS are required, ACLS preferred or current.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts licensure and registration.
• Completion of an accredited school of nursing program.
• BLS is a requirement for every RN; ACLS if current.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing discipline.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process from Admission to Discharge for pediatric patients.
• Develops and coordinates individualized plan of care including discharge planning.
• Delivers direct patient care and administers medications and therapies as required.
• Assists physicians with procedures and tests and documents care.
• Maintains quality, safety and regulatory compliance through education and performance improvement.

Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required or directed. Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities. Assumes responsibility for professional growth. Assists in education and development of staff.
