Qualifications

• ASN required.
• BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC RN license.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a 30-bed acuity-adaptable unit focused on post-surgical care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Maintain patient safety, manage multiple acuity levels, and demonstrate strong bedside skills.

This is a 30-bed Acuity Adaptable unit specializing primarily in post-surgical care for Orthopedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Urology, and Trauma. The patient population on this unit will vary from those with hip fractures, stroke, and surgical patients. This unit focuses on building and maintain a strong foundation for acuity level care.

Nursing skills gained:

• Ability to obtain nursing certifications (ex: orthopedics, stroke, med/surg)
• Develop strong foundational bedside skills
• Obtain strong time management and prioritization skills by managing patients of different acuity levels.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
