Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our ICU team. This 36-hour night shift runs 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with rotating weekends and holidays, and includes a $13,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

As an RN, you will diagnose responses to health problems, provide emergent, supportive, and restorative care, and document care using the nursing process. Requirements include graduation from an accredited program and CT RN licensure, with CPR, NVCIT, ACLS, NIHSS

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current CT RN license.
• CPR/AHA Healthcare Provider within 3 months of hire.
• NVCIT certification within orientation.
• ACLS certification within orientation.
• NIHSS certification within orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, psychosocial, emotional and discharge needs per patient age.
• Document care thoroughly and accurately.
• Operate and troubleshoot care equipment as needed.
• Evaluate and adjust the care plan as patient needs evolve.
• Develop and implement a plan of care for each patient.
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Summary:

As the Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for diagnosing responses to actual or potential health problems and for providing basic emergent, supportive, and restorative care through the use of our nursing process. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned responsibility.

Registered Nurse(RN)Job Responsibilities:

• According to age and developmental level of the patient, systematically assesses the patient's physical, psycho-social, emotional, cultural, spiritual and discharge needs.
• Utilizes effective oral and written communication skills to include completeness and accuracy of documentation.
• Demonstrates accurate technical skill and operational knowledge of patient care equipment and procedure.
• Evaluates the plan of care and reformulates the goals as necessary.
• Develops and implements a plan of care for each patient.
• Recognizes unsafe and life‑threatening situations and intervenes appropriately.

Registered Nurse (RN) Education and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut required.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
• Current NVCIT (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or within 3 months of hire required.
• Experience in Critical Care nursing is preferred.
• Completion of basic arrhythmia course and/or challenge exam within duration of orientation required.
• Current ACLS certification or completion within duration of orientation required.
• Current NVCIT (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or completion within duration of orientation required.
• Current NIHSS certification or completion within duration of orientation required.
• Recognizes normal and abnormal cardiac monitoring patterns and implements an appropriate treatment process.
• Must demonstrate skill and efficiency in areas of procedure, equipment, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation for hemodynamic monitoring.
