IHA in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a part-time registered nurse for the 2 South ICU, a 30-bed unit. You will apply the nursing process to plan, implement and manage care for routine patients, including education for patients and families and coordinating their continuum of care.
The role requires Maryland RN licensure, BLS, and the ability to work 12-hour day shifts. BSN preferred; salary rate listed as $40.09–$57.69 hourly, with on-site hospital duties.
This 30-bed intensive care unit provides care to patients with complex medical needs that require critical care modalities and interventions. 2 South ICU is staffed by intensivists, registered nurses, and health unit coordinators. Staff receive support from advanced practice nurses.
Part time
12 Hour Day Shift
Using the Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance and applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of routine patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates fundamental patient/family information to health care team. Identifies and communicates variances from patient goals. Responsible for providing and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the nursing process.

Rate: $40.09 - $57.69
Ability to lift patients/patient care equipment up to 35 pounds. Must be able to push, pull, and move patients and patient care equipment. Must be able to bend body downward at the waist and be able to kneel. Must be able to utilize a computer for periods of time throughout the shift.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly at distances close to the eyes.
Must have sufficient acuity to identify auditory alarms in noisy environments.
The worker is subject to hazards associated with a hospital environment.
