Job summary

Berkshire Eye Surgery Center is seeking a full-time PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care before and after anesthesia. You will support the surgical team, monitor patient condition, and ensure safety and comfort for patients undergoing procedures in a focused ambulatory setting.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited RN program degree, an active RN license in the state, BLS and ACLS, and preferably 2 years in PACU or critical care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• Minimum 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous nursing care for patients before and after anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique as appropriate.
• Perform assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for discharge preparation.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse at Berkshire Eye Surgery Center

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient’s condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferredli>
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
