Job summary

Kansas Gastroenterology, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Infusion team, with cross-training for our Research department. You will manage infusion care as ordered by our providers, delivering patient-centered nursing. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, communicates effectively, and demonstrates current nursing practice knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed RN in Kansas.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience; infusion experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient care skills.
  • First aid/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient consent and ensure confidentiality.
  • Obtain and document health history, chief complaint, vital signs, and risk factors; assess disease condition.
  • Provide patient care per guidelines, standards of care, and laws/regulations.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor treatment progress and patient response.
  • Assess and reassess patients during and after infusion as needed.
  • Know medications and IV fluids and age-appropriate administration.
  • Maintain productivity; be a team player.
  • Operate equipment safely and maintain asepsis.
  • Communicate effectively within and across departments for patient benefit.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Infusion team, with some cross-training for our Research department. In this role, you will primarily be managing infusion care as ordered by our providers. You are a Registered Nurse (RN) who operates with great attention to detail and a big heart. You take pride in creating personalized care plans for patients and are able to observe and communicate effectively in your patient's best interest. To succeed, you should have demonstrated knowledge and skill in current nursing practices as well as a strong communication skills. We offer a team-based approach for a patient-focused practice, with hours conducive to a work-life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses disease condition.
  • Provides patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.
  • Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform assessment on all patients and reassess intra-infusion and post-infusion as needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medications and IV fluids and their correct administration based on age of the patient and patient’s clinical condition
  • Utilizes initiative, strives to maintain a steady level of productivity; self-starter, compatible and supportive; a team player.
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
  • Carries out medical asepsis during infusions.
  • Maintains a good working relationship and effective communication both within the department and with other departments for the benefit of the patient
Qualifications
  • Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Kansas, completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Previous experience of at least one year as a Registered Nurse is preferred, infusion experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient care skills
  • First aid/CPR certification required
  • EMR experience preferred
