Registered Nurse - Stony Brook Internists, UFPC

Location: Southampton, NY

Schedule: Part Time

Days/Hours: Monday - Friday

Pay: $40.23 - $50.24

Summary

The Registered Nurse provides high-quality, individualized direct patient care, utilizing professional skills and knowledge. Provides supervision to auxiliary personnel assisting with patient care.

Job Duties & Essential Functions

• Accurately collects clinical data and reports abnormalities to Medical Provider.
• Triage patient calls and troubleshoot medication issues.
• Answer phones, assemble charts, register patients, schedule appointments, and handle data entry.
• Perform patient care responsibilities safely, following standards and policies.
• Develop and organize care plans in consultation with physicians.
• Determine and set priorities to meet patient needs.
• Document patient care accurately in medical records.
• Coordinate services and accommodations for effective communication.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, documenting accordingly.
• Maintain infection control precautions and identify issues.
• Provide in-service education to team members.
• Participate in Quality Assurance activities and mandatory training.
• Adhere to policies on patient rights and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing; must attain Bachelor's within 10 years of licensure.
• Current NY State RN license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Physical Demands

Active position requiring movement and communication with patients and staff. Additional physical demands will be outlined by management.
