Montana State Hospital (MSH) is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our team. The RN will perform assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluation for adults with serious mental illness, using a Team Nursing approach.

A Registered Nurse (RN) at Montana State Hospital utilizes a “Team Nursing” approach to provide care and support to clients within the framework of a therapeutic environment. This position performs nursing assessment, planning, interventions, and evaluation for adult clients with serious mental illness in the facility. Responsibilities include assigning work and providing direction and training to subordinate nursing personnel.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

• Meet minimum qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university degree in nursing.

• Must have an active, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Montana, or the ability to become licensed in the State of Montana.

• Preferred experience working with psychiatric inpatient treatment programs.

This position may be eligible for a statutory 2.5% an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2026.
