Job description

Location: Florida Oncology and Hematology – Pay Range: $26.22 – $48.71.

Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with the role, provides triage care when necessary, and communicates patient condition effectively to the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non‑oncologic agents to patients as ordered by providers.
  • Apply Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines.
  • Dispose of biohazardous waste per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing patient education, continual assessment, and support.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and planned treatment course.
  • Conduct telephone triage: prioritize incoming calls and messages from various sources, responding in an appropriate time frame.
  • Assist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies and recommend new purchases as needed.
  • Complete annual safety and nursing trainings and attend mandatory staff meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
  • Assist in training new employees per JBIs.
  • Work at any company location as needed and perform overtime with sufficient notice.
  • Complete additional duties and projects as assigned.

  • Adhere to job‑specific protocols and guidelines for medication administration.
  • Follow proper patient identification procedures for all encounters.
  • Ensure appropriate charges are captured in accordance with guidelines.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and company policies regarding patient privacy, safety, labor and employment law.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Nursing Degree (Bachelor or Associate).
  • Certifications / Licenses: Unencumbered RN License in the state of employment or multi‑state license; current CPR and BLS certifications; valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting; ability to assess patient needs and respond calmly in emergencies.
