Job summary

CFG Health Systems, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to inmate patients across diverse clinical settings within the facility.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and an active RN license in the state of employment, with prior clinical experience. Correctional healthcare experience is preferred. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and must maintain documentation, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment (maintain a current copy on file at all times)
• Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous experience in a correctional healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized nursing care to inmate patients according to nursing protocols.
• Perform assessments in various correctional settings (intake, health care units, emergency, chronic care).
• Collaborate with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, appropriate care.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions as prescribed.
• Monitor and report reactions to treatments and changes in status.
• Provide patient education on medications, self-care, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in appropriate formats.
• Promote a therapeutic and professional environment for inmates.
• Adhere to infection control, medication administration standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in staff development, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on facility needs.

Position Summary

Registered Nurses (RNs) provide direct nursing care to inmate patients, applying the nursing process—assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation—in accordance with professional nursing standards. RNs collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure effective patient care and desired health outcomes.

Correctional nurses deliver care to promote and improve overall health, often managing a patient population that has had limited access to healthcare prior to incarceration. This role allows RNs to care for a wide range of conditions, from minor ailments to complex medical or behavioral health issues.
