Job summary

Merakey seeks a Registered Nurse to join the IDD Services program in Chico, CA. The RN will assess adults with intellectual disabilities and medical needs, collaborating with physicians and APPs, and will teach staff medication certification.

Salary is $46.10–$49.54/hour with flexible days and comprehensive training. The role involves on-site work across facilities, direct care, and care-plan support.

Qualifications

• Accredited nursing degree and active California RN license.
• Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with patient assessment, care planning and discharge activities.
• Ability to teach nursing curriculum to staff and contribute to programs.

Position Details

Pay $46.10 - $49.54 per hour depending on experience

Schedule: Flexible days. M, W, F 8a-430p w/30 min lunch

Comprehensive training provided

The registered nurse (RN) will work within intermediate care facilities and adult residential facilities, conducting assessments for adult consumers with intellectual disabilities and medical complexities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with doctors and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and assist staff with medical concerns.
• Teach medication certification classes to staff.
• Spend time between the office and the residential facilities, ensuring comprehensive care and support.
• Oversee and monitor medication supplies.
• Advise on the need for urgent care or hospital visits.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Proficiency in patient assessment, care plan development, and admission/discharge activities.
• Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary programs and teach nursing curriculum to staff.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
• 2 years’ experience in community health, long-term care, or working with developmentally disabled populations.
