Job summary

Mercy in Paris, Arkansas is seeking an experienced RN for the Emergency Department night shift. You will use the nursing process to deliver patient care and maintain professional accountability for your assigned patients.

You will evaluate the care provided by others, coordinate patient care with multiple departments, and safeguard patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with Mercy service standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited RN program.
• Current RN license in hiring state or compact licensure.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Certifications such as ACLS/NRP/ENPC/TNCC/CPHON/OCN may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process.
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical requirements/demands

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Certifications

Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
