Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pharmacy team. In this fast-paced retail setting, you will support pharmacists with vaccine administration, prescription preparation, and patient care.

You will greet customers, manage information in our computer systems, and help resolve insurance and billing issues. A valid RN license and nursing degree are required; offsite vaccination events may be part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Licensed RN in applicable state and nursing degree required
  • Must be licensed with state Nursing Board or have multi-state licensure
  • Strong customer service and communication skills required

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers and learning their names.
  • Administer vaccines as allowed by law, including offsite vaccination events.
  • Assist pharmacists with prescription preparation and dispensing tasks.
  • Enter patient information into computer systems and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims and assist with third-party billing.
  • Stock pharmacy supplies and maintain the cleanliness of the dispensing area.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

There is occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals or solvents during compounding, including chemotherapy drugs. When working offsite for vaccination events, you may be exposed to equipment movement hazards, temperature extremes, vibrations, and dampness.
