Job summary

Newton Correctional Facility is seeking a registered nurse to join the correctional healthcare team. You will provide professional nursing care in a challenging, rewarding environment and support incarcerated individuals as they prepare for release.

The role includes an evening shift (1p-11p) with opportunities for a stable state employment benefit package, including a sign-on bonus for eligible new state employees.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with a Compact State Agreement.
• Note: include your State of Iowa or Compact State License Number when submitting your application.

The hours would be 1p-11p; however different schedule can be discussed with the Supervisor.

There is also a $3,000 sign on bonus if you aren't already a state employee. $1500 paid on your first check and the remaining $1500 at the completion of your 6 months. Current state employees are not eligible for recruitment payments upon transfer, demotion, or promotion to another agency.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

Compact license holders are required to obtain an Iowa license within 60 days.
