Job summary

New York Imaging (NYI) in Brooklyn is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our imaging and cancer care teams. The role focuses on IV starts, patient assessment, and coordinating care across radiology and oncology colleagues.

You will monitor vitals, support patients and families, educate on treatments, and document progress. Strong EMR skills, BLS, NY license, and physical stamina are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR system preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

• Start and maintain IVs for radiology procedures including CT scans and PET/CT scans.
• Monitor vital signs, weight and height.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
• Conduct cancer research to enhance treatment protocols assigned to cancer patients.
• Provide supportive resources for the patient and families to promote a positive outlook.
• Teach patients and families regarding treatment expectations.
• Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis.
• Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
• Complete MAR after treatment.
• Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.

Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Brooklyn

Hours/Days: Mon, Tue, Thurs 8AM - 6PM EST (3 10hour shifts)

In This Role, You Will

We Require

• Valid New York State RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
