Job summary

State of Iowa - Executive Branch is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Women’s Intake Center. You will perform health assessments, manage patient records and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address health needs in a secure environment.

Shift options include 1pm–11pm and 9pm–7am with every other weekend, 10‑hour shifts and 2–3 consecutive days off. A $3,000 sign-on bonus may be available plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Iowa or under Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement.
• Compact license holders must obtain an Iowa license within 60 days.
• E-Verify and Right to Work compliance is required for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient and staff health appraisals and conduct health clinics.
• Document patient visits and assist in patient record management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary health teams to address patient needs, including mental health interventions and medication administration.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide hands-on care and support.
• Maintain and prepare medical supplies, assist with labs and telemedicine/x-ray services.
• Ensure proper medication administration, accountability and documentation following institutional policies.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
