Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Telemetry RN to provide per diem nursing care in the Telemetry Unit at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. The role emphasizes continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythms and vital signs, with prompt communication to physicians as patient conditions change.

The Tele RN will administer medications, support activities of daily living, educate patients and families, and ensure safe patient care using the nursing process in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certificate on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained (preferred).
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' conditions and create individualized care plans.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physician and document results.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide hands-on care including wound care and activities of daily living assistance.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care in Telemetry Unit.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and coordinate with physician.
• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process.

We are seeking an MST Registered Nurse,sometimes referred to as aTelemetry RNor Tele RN, Med/Surg RN or Rehab RN.A Tele RNspecializing in attending to patients within our telemetryunits,includingthose needing cardiac monitoring.The Tele RNwillmonitor and interpretourpatient's vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring of patients, by the Telemetry RNenables gatheringreal-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient's condition.This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRNas needed.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, which allows for remote monitoring of patients' heart rates and rhythms
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology
• Administer medicationsas prescribed byphysicians, including intravenous medications, andmonitorpatients for any adverse reactions
• Provide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments,assistingwith activities of daily living, and providing emotional support
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and treatments, as well as provide guidance on self-care practices and lifestyle modificationsintheTelemetry Unit
• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and be able to address any concerns to the physician as soon as possible
• Responsible for the delivery of safe patient careutilizingthe nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
