Job summary

Select Medical is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time, on-site role in Grand Rapids, MI. You will deliver evidence-based nursing care in a hospital or rehabilitation setting, assess conditions, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and document interventions.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site Registered Nurse role is based in Grand Rapids, MI and focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in a specialized hospital or rehabilitation setting. The Registered Nurse assesses patient conditions, develops and implements individualized care plans, administers medications and treatments, and monitors patient responses. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, coordinating transitions of care, and documenting all nursing interventions in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards. The role involves educating patients and families on care plans, recovery expectations, and health management, while promoting a safe environment and infection control practices. The Registered Nurse also participates in quality improvement initiatives, utilizes clinical technology and electronic health records, and supports colleagues through teamwork and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan and graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred).
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and care planning skills, with the ability to manage complex or medically fragile patients.
• Proficiency in patient monitoring, medication administration, and use of electronic health records and other clinical technologies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and to educate patients, families, and caregivers.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, infection control, and adherence to evidence-based nursing practices and regulatory standards.
• Ability to work 12-hour or variable shifts, prioritize multiple patients, and remain calm in fast-paced or high-acuity environments.
• Prior experience in critical illness recovery, acute care, rehabilitation, or similar settings is beneficial.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and specialty certifications (e.g., CCRN, rehabilitation nursing) are a plus.
