Job summary

Tidelands Health in Georgetown, SC seeks a Registered Nurse for PACU/OPS to provide high-quality post-anesthesia care. You will monitor recovery, record vitals, manage pain, update medical records, and work with the medical team to ensure timely interventions.

The ideal candidate has ADN with BSN/MSN preferred, PACU/OPS and critical care experience, an SC RN license, and BLS/ACLS certification; strong communication and patient-family education skills are valued in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• ADN required to practice as a registered nurse.
• BSN and MSN preferred for advancement.
• PACU/OPS experience preferred.
• Critical Care experience required.
• SC RN license and BLS/ACLS required.

Responsibilities

A Brief Overview

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.

What you will do

• Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.
• Measure and record patients' vital signs.
• Closely observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.
• Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.
• Update charts, patient files, and medical records.
• Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitate timely specialized interventions.
• Provide comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.
• Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.

Education Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred
• Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• Previous experience in PACU/OPS Preferred

Critical Care experience

• Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Required
• Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 Days Required
