Job summary

Parkview Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to independently plan and provide professional nursing care in the MICU at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role requires adherence to physician orders, hospital policies, ANA standards, the Indiana Nurse Practice Act, and the ANA Code of Ethics.

Qualified candidates will hold a nursing diploma or ASN/BSN, Indiana RN license, CPR certification, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in nursing or ASN/BSN required.
• Valid Indiana Registered Nurse license required; CPR certification.
• Additional certifications may be required for specific areas.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide professional nursing care per physician orders and hospital policies.
• Provide care in MICU with high-acuity patients following ANA standards.

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse independently plans and provides excellent professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders, established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, Indiana Nurse Practice Act, and the ANA Code of Ethics.

Unit Overview:

The medical intensive care unit (MICU) is located on the 3rd floor at Parkview Regional Medical Center. This department has 36 beds with a critical level of acuity that works with pneumonia, flu, COPD, cardiac arrest, etc.

Qualifications

• Requires a Diploma in nursing or an ASN/BSN
• Valid Indiana Registered Nurse license required. CPR certification.
• Additional certifications may be required for specified areas.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with 100 pounds. (Lifting requirements may be heavier for specified departments.) Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
