Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Registered Nurse in Englewood (Swedish Medical Center Campus). Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under physician supervision.
  • Maintain knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures and complete all chemotherapy charge forms.
  • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patients, labs, and protocols; calculate dose; consult physicians regarding dosage adjustments and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Administer all medications with correct product, dosage, route, time, and technique.
  • Provide instructions to patients and caregivers on the use of portable infusion pumps for home continuous drug delivery.
  • Document nursing assessments, patient teaching, fluid, and medication administration in the patient chart.
  • Communicate all pertinent information and interventions to the physician.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the chart.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Hold an active RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements.
Working Conditions

Minimum two years of nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred.

The work environment involves exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing, and walking for extensive periods. Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range required.
