Job summary

EPITEC in Cranston, RI is seeking an Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse to support our transition to a new facility. This role provides direct patient care for adults with acute psychiatric needs and requires a Rhode Island RN license.

Location: Fully onsite Cranston, RI - Part time OR Full time

Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse

Seeking registered nurses to support adult inpatient psychiatric care during a transition from an existing hospital building to a new facility. Nurses will provide direct patient care and help maintain safe, consistent unit operations throughout the transition.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, administering medications and treatments, monitoring changes in physical and behavioral health, maintaining required observations and documentation, and communicating with the interdisciplinary care team. Nurses will participate in admissions, handoffs, care planning, patient education, and responses to behavioral or medical emergencies as appropriate to their assignment.

Candidates must hold a current RN license that meets Rhode Island practice requirements and be comfortable working with adults who have acute psychiatric needs. Experience in inpatient behavioral health is preferred. We are looking for nurses who communicate clearly, use sound clinical judgment, work well with direct care staff, and can adapt to changing unit workflows while maintaining patient safety and therapeutic care.

Candidates must be flexible with days and hours.

Days/Times TBD (likely all 3 shifts), plus mandatory every other weekend. Total hours per week – at least 24/hrs per week up to 40 per week. Can be flexible for the right candidate.
