Job summary

Amarillo Endoscopy Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our GI team, performing Endoscopy procedures and providing pre- and post-operative care in a 2 OR and 3 procedure room setting.

Weekdays only with no holidays, weekends, or on-call; some early mornings and later evenings may be required; must follow SGNA guidelines and maintain current endoscopy skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Currently licensed by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
• General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to endoscopy.
• ACLS, BLS required.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients, equipment and room for Endoscopy procedures.
• Assists physicians with Endoscopy procedures per SGNA guidelines.
• Adheres to Center policies and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
• Follows endoscopy nursing standards and participates in care planning.
• Maintains and updates skills on endoscopic procedures and techniques.
• Provides multi-dimensional patient care from pre-op to PACU.

Amarillo Endoscopy Center is hiring a Registered Nurse.

USPI Amarillo Endoscopy Center is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join our team. We have 2 OR room and 3 Procedure rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Colon & Gastroenterology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

GI RN at Amarillo Endoscopy Center:

• Prepares patients, equipment and room for Endoscopy procedures.
• Assists physicians with Endoscopy procedures per the SGNA guidelines. Specialized knowledge, experience and training is required for endoscope manipulation under the direction of the physician.
• Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
• Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for Endoscopy nursing care according to accepted standards.
• Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge of Endoscopy procedures and techniques.
• Provides multi-dimensional care for assigned patients. Includes patient care in the pre-operative holding area, care in the Endoscopy suite, and care for the patient in the PACU.
• Contact by way of telephone patients scheduled for endoscopy procedures to assess medical and medication history. Reviews with PAT nurse for any labs, x-rays, or EKG’s needed.
• Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in endoscopic procedures
