Job summary

CHC is a non-profit social service agency serving the Akron area and is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our primary care team in Akron, OH. You will provide direct nursing care, assess patients, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and educate patients and families to support health and wellness.

Job description

CHC is a non-profit social service agency in the Akron area whose mission is to treat, inspire, support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. CHC has been a critical part of Ohio's efforts to treat and prevent substance use disorders since 1974. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our primary care team in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care, support patient health and wellness, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a primary care setting.
• Conduct patient assessments, record medical histories, and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures as needed.
• Ensure a safe and clean clinical environment following infection control protocols.
• Provide Clinical Supervision to Patient Care Liaison.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
• Experience in primary care nursing preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
