Qualified candidates hold an associate degree, NY license, CNMT/ARRT certification, and meet ACR requirements. The role includes CT functions with SPECT/CT and may require travel to other sites.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Education from Nuclear Medicine Technology program; CT as applicable per JRC standards.
• Meets ACR requirements to perform Nuclear Medicine exams.
• Current CNMT and/or ARRT certification and NY DOH Radiologic Technologist license.
• New York DOH Radiologic Technologist license with limited Nuclear Medicine and CT practice.

Responsibilities

City/State: Tarrytown, New York Grant Funded: No Department: Card - Cardiology Associates Billing Bargaining Unit: 1199 Work Shift: Day Work Days: DAYS VARY Scheduled Hours: 8 AM-4:30 PM Scheduled Daily Hours: 7.5 HOURS Hourly Rate: $55.14 For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.

Responsibilities of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist include an empathetic and instructional approach to patient care, the preparation, calibration and administration of radiopharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals (under the direction of an authorized user), the performance of quality control procedures and the operation of imaging, laboratory, and computer instrumentation.

Qualified technologists can perform CT functions in conjunction with SPECT/CT exams.

Please note: In the event of vacation or emergency will be required to travel to other nuclear cardiology sites including but not limited to 1578 Williamsbridge Rd and 20 Cedar St.

Education/Skills required

• Associate's degree required
• Education from formal education program(s) for Nuclear Medicine Technology, and as applicable CT, by the Joint Review Committee of Educational Programs to qualify as Nuclear Medicine Tech.
• Meets American College of Radiology requirements/standards to perform Nuclear Medicine exams.
• Current CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT certification and/or New York State Department of Health License as a Radiological Technologist.
• New York State Department of Health License Radiological Technologist with at least a limited practice of Nuclear Medicine and can include CT practice to perform SPECT/CT exams.

Knowledge of the following Quality Control

• Requires the evaluation and maintenance of quality control program for instrumentation to ensure its credibility and reliability.

Administrative Procedures

• Requires the exercise of judgment to schedule patients in a timely arranged manner. Uses judgment to assign work schedules to technologists.

Patient Care

• Requires the exercise of judgment to assess and responds to patient's needs prior to, during and after visits in the Nuclear Medicine Division.
• Determine which patients should receive immediate care in the absence of the supervisor.
