Montefiore Medical Center in Tarrytown, NY is seeking a part-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist to assist in patient care and imaging. Responsibilities include preparation, calibration and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, plus QC and operation of imaging equipment, under supervision of an authorized user.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required
• Education from formal Nuclear Medicine program and CT training per JREP to qualify as Nuclear Medicine Tech
• Meets AC R standards for Nuclear Medicine exams and certifications (CNMT/ARRT) or NYS Radiological Technologist license with limited Nuclear Medicine practice
• New York State license with limited Nuclear Medicine and CT practice to perform SPECT/CT exams

Qualified technologists can perform CT functions in conjunction with SPECT/CT exams.*Please note***:** In the event of vacation or emergency will be required to travel to other nuclear cardiology sites including but not limited to - 1578 Williamsbridge Rd and 20 Cedar St**Education/Skills required:*** Associate’s degree required* Education from formal education program(s) for Nuclear Medicine Technology, and as applicable CT, by the Joint Review Committee of Educational Programs to qualify as Nuclear Medicine Tech.* Meets American College of Radiology requirements/standards to perform Nuclear Medicine exams.* Current CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT certification and/or New York State Department of Health License as a Radiological Technologist. New York State Department of Health License Radiological Technologist with at least a limited practice of Nuclear Medicine and can include CT practice to perform SPECT/CT exams.* *Knowledge of the following* + *Quality Control*: Requires the evaluation and maintenance of quality control program for instrumentation to ensure its credibility and reliability. + *Administrative Procedures*: Requires the exercise of judgment to schedule patients in a timely arranged manner. Uses judgment to assign work schedules to technologists. + Nuclear Medicine gamma cameras with and without SPECT/CT; data processing computers; doses calibrators; well counters; EKG machine, thyroid probe; survey meters; film processor; film copiers; lung ventilation equipment; Hospital computer systems applicable to job functions. + *Patient Care*: Requires the exercise of judgment to assess and responds to patient's needs prior to, during and after visits in the Nuclear Medicine Division.
