Job summary

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA, is seeking a Registered Medication Aide & CNA to join our team on a full-time night shift (7P-7A).

You will perform resident care tasks in Memory Support and Assisted Living under the direction of the Administrator, take vital signs, escort residents, and administer medications under supervision as scheduled on assigned units.

Qualifications

• A VA State CNA license is required.
• A Registered Medication Aide license is required to administer medication.
• Two to three years of experience with dementia patients is preferred.
• Influenza vaccine is required and COVID-19 vaccination is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs and promptly report abnormal resident conditions to the charge nurse.
• Escort/transport residents to various facility locations.
• Administer medications to residents under supervision of a licensed nurse or pharmacist.
• Notify the charge nurse of residents requiring injections.

Perform a variety of resident care tasks in the Memory Support and Assisted Living Unit under the direction of the Administrator.

• Take and record vital signs and promptly report abnormal resident conditions to the charge nurse.
• Escort/transport residents to various facility locations.
• Responsible for administering medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse or pharmacist.
• Administers prescribed medications (oral, topical, and insulin injections) as scheduled on assigned units and shifts.
• Notifies the charge nurse of residents requiring injections.

Requirements

• A valid VA State CNA license is required.
• Registered Medication Aide license is required to administer medication
• Two to three years of experience working with dementia patients is preferred
