Location: Good Samaritan Western Ridge - 6949 Good Samaritan Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45247

Work Hours:

  • Optional; schedule may vary
  • PRN (as-needed availability to cover open shifts)
  • Example coverage: First shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM and Second shift: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM
  • Will assist with PTO coverage as needed
  • Weekend and holiday rotation required (minimum of one weekend every six months)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field, OR clinical experience and MLT education equivalent to MT certification (Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree)
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification
  • MT Clinical Training
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience in a related field

Job Overview

This position is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory tests, confirming the accuracy of test results, and reporting laboratory findings to doctors, pathologists, or other physicians. This position may work in various areas of the laboratory, including Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry, and Fibrinolysis. The role involves operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory instruments, utilizing the laboratory computer system in the performance of duties, and maintaining strict adherence to established policies and procedures. The position operates under the supervision of a general supervisor but works independently. Direct supervision is not required for specimen processing, test performance, or result reporting.
