Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, Colorado is seeking an EEG Technician to support neurological studies during night shifts. You will perform EEG procedures, document results, and communicate findings to the care team.

Candidates should have 2+ years in patient care EEG procedures, HS diploma, BLS certification; REEGT or ABRET preferred; strong English and computer skills. This role requires attention to detail and ability to explain testing to patients and families.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of EEG procedures in patient care.
  • REEGT and ABRET preferred; BLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Measure neurological responses and trace electrical pathways; document studies accurately.
  • Observe EEG tracings and respond to seizure activity appropriately.
  • Explain testing procedures to patients and families using age-appropriate guidelines.
  • Perform studies with documentation, troubleshoot equipment and artifacts, and utilize resources.
  • Evaluate data and report abnormal findings to nurses and physicians.

Job Description:
  • Measures neurological responses to external stimuli and trace electrical pathways.Scans, correlates, and clips studies accurately.
  • Observes EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity.
  • Explains testing procedures to patients and families using age-appropriate guidelines.
  • Performs studies with appropriate documentation, observes patients, troubleshoots equipment and physiological artifacts, and utilizes appropriate resources.
  • Evaluates recorded diagnostic data and reports abnormal findings to nurses and physicians.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately
  • Ability to use technologies to measure brain activities and circulation
  • Ability to train and mentor staff and students through specialized imaging
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to perform quality END procedures to include but not limited to EEG, Ambulatory EEG, LTM, and NCS following ACNS and AANEM guidelines
