Job summary

AdventHealth in Castle Rock, CO seeks a skilled cardiac ultrasound tech to perform echocardiograms and advanced cardiac testing. You will prioritize tests, maintain equipment, and collaborate with physicians to ensure patient safety and accuracy.

The role requires ARDMS credentials with RCDS/RVS/RCS/RVT listed as required; BLS is mandatory. On-site schedule includes day shift with on-call duties and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree is preferred.
• Required BLS certification and ARDMS credentials; RCDS, RVT, RCS, and RVS are listed as required.
• Experience in echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiograms as ordered by physicians and ensures quality imaging.
• Operates specialized tests (TEE, Stress Echo, EKGs, treadmill, Holter) and analyzes results.
• Maintains equipment calibration and participates in CQI and staff education.
• Provides on-call coverage per department policy.

Job Description

Troubleshoots and corrects recording instrument malfunctions or unusual patient problems that interfere with recordings. Independently prioritizes clinical and administrative work and identifies process improvements. Processes patient and department records, ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Adjusts approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures and deals with various personality types, ages, and levels of consciousness. Provides on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and facility policy. Participates in CQI, in-services, ongoing education, and attends at least 80% of staff meetings to maintain high skill levels. Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration of machines. Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physicians. Conducts specialized testing using computer-assisted devices, including TEE, Stress Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echo, EKGs, Treadmills, and Holter monitors. Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient responses by informing the primary healthcare team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
