Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL seeks a qualified Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform echocardiography and vascular studies with accuracy and safety. The role requires adhering to patient identifiers, maintaining exam quality, and coordinating with reading physicians to ensure proper diagnostic evaluation.

Education includes an Associate's degree (preferred) with cardiovascular sonography focus; RDCS, RVT, RCS, RVS, and BLS certifications are required. 1+ year of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Educational background required for cardiovascular sonography.

Responsibilities

• Obtains a complete and current history of the patient and the reason for the exam.
• Performs quality echocardiogram and vascular studies for adequate diagnostic evaluation by the reading physicians.
• Obtains all views required for processing.
• Inputs notes and history at the completion of the exam.
• Inputs data at the completion of the exam.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
• Checks practitioner orders for accuracy and clarify with offices, floors, or physicians as needed.
• Notifies the floor if the patient has had an echocardiogram within the past six months.
• Utilizes all safety measures provided for the department and individual technologists.
• Always uses two types of patient identifiers, such as name and date of birth.
• Assures proper positioning, technique, and protocol for each exam.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) [Required]
• Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range: $31.86 - $59.27
