Job summary

Anderson Hospital is seeking an Echocardiography Sonographer to perform 2-D, M-mode and Doppler studies under physician direction. Responsibilities include stress echo, Holter, EKG, IV access, and imaging agent administration, with duties in scheduling and reporting.

RDCS preferred and CPR current; 1–3 years experience required. High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program are expected; ARDMS/CAAHEP credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current enrollment in or graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program preferred.
  • Adult CPR certification required; typing and general computer knowledge required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 2-D, M-mode and Doppler echocardiography and assist with transesophageal studies.
  • Conduct stress testing including stress echo and Dobutamine echo.
  • Apply Holter monitors and perform scanning as needed.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKG).
  • Manage filing, typing, order entry, scheduling, and charting.
  • Prepare reports for physician review and assist with PI measurements.
  • Insert peripheral IV lines and prepare imaging agents.
  • Document imaging procedures and assist with department objectives.

***$20,000 Sign-on Bonus Available***Job Summary: Responsible for performing quality cardiology diagnostic testing under the direction of a physician. May engage in all departmental activities to provide safe and effective delivery of patient diagnostic testing within the parameters guided by the American Society of Echocardiography and American College of Cardiology. Department activities include but are not limited to echocardiography; stress testing; holter monitors; electrocardiography (EKG); peripheral intravenous line insertion; preparation of and administration of imaging enhancing agents; scheduling patients; limited transcribing/typing, faxing, charting and filing reports.Job Responsibilities:1. Performing 2-D, Mode and Doppler echocardiography, assist with Transesophageal Echocardiograms2. Stress testing including stress echo and Dobutamine echo.3. Holter application and scanning.4. Performing electrocardiograms (EKG’s).5. Filing, typing, order entry, charging and documentation, scheduling, faxing and charting.6. Preparing reports for physician review. Preparation of and administration of image enhancing agents.Education Requirements and Other Requirements:Education Level: High school graduate or equivalent required.Certification/Licensure: RDCS PreferredExperience Requirements: : Experience in Cardiology and 1 - 3 years experience as an Echocardiography Sonographer required .Current enrollment in or graduate of aDiagnostic Medical Sonography Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) preferredAdult/Pediatric CPR certification required (Available upon employment).Typing skills and general computer knowledge required.Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) preferred.
