Job summary

Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital in Utah seeks a Registered Dietitian to join our dietary services team. The RD will supervise the Dietary/Kitchen staff, provide mentorship to the Lead Chef, and ensure accurate menu planning for standard and modified diets.

You will conduct nutritional assessments for patients, counsel families on dietary plans, monitor Joint Commission standards, and help develop care plans addressing diverse nutritional needs across adolescents and adults.

Qualifications

• Master's degree REQUIRED (effective 2020).
• Utah Registered Dietitian (RD) license REQUIRED.
• Food Handler's permit required.
• 1–3 years dietitian experience in an acute psychiatric hospital setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Joint Commission standards.
• Must be at least 21 years old and pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Dietary/Kitchen supervisor, mentoring the Lead Chef.
• Approves menus including modified diets and provides patient/family counseling.
• Monitors performance improvement plans and informs care plans with nutritional input.
• Coordinates Dietary Services to meet Joint Commission standards.
• Applies knowledge of adolescent and adult nutritional needs.

• Full-Time, salaried non-exempt, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, with some weekends, as needed

Your goals and objectives include:

• The Registered Dietitian also serves as the Dietary/Kitchen supervisor (provides supervision/mentorship to the Lead Chef)


• Approves menus including modified diets from the hospital, provides nutritional assessments for patients as needed, and counsel's patients and their families on dietary plans, food selections, preparation and nutritional principles.


• Monitors the performance improvement plans of the Dietary Services department and provides input in the development and implementation of patient care plans in relation to nutritional needs.


• Coordinate Dietary Services Department within The Joint Commission (TJC) standards


• Knowledge of all facets of nutritional and dietary planning, including unique dietary needs of adolescents and adults age groups.
