Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and/or Nutrition
• Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the National Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics
• Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners
• Possess a valid Texas driver’s license
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Dietitian
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
• Must maintain current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
• Must comply with agency immunization requirements
• Must submit to agency-required drug test
• Must submit to agency-required fingerprinting

Responsibilities:

• Providing nutrition care to patients throughout the Hospital.
• Creating nutrition plans to improve the health and physical conditions of patients.
• Analyzing the patients’ health status, goals, and dietary restrictions.
• Tracking patient’s dietary intake and progress and educating patients on how to maintain a balanced diet.
• Consults to patients, families and treatment team regarding nutrition needs.
• Writing appropriate nutrition related recommendations in the medical record.
• Approving patients’ menus and providing this information to the Food Services Director.
