Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree that includes a minimum of 24 semester hours in human nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, or food systems management
• Two years of experience as a registered dietitian in a hospital, food service management, community or public health facility
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience
• Licensure as a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice is required
• Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a registered dietitian is required

• Counsels individuals and groups on nutritional practices designed to prevent disease and promote health
• Work in clinics and community facilities where working conditions are normal
• Operate with moderate supervision from a technical superior and workweek as assigned
