Job summary

Miramar Health Center in Kennewick, WA is seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy for clinic patients and WIC clients. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will assess nutrition needs and develop tailored plans to support health goals.

You’ll conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, collaborate with physicians, precept interns, and help meet FQHC quality metrics while engaging community resources and documenting care in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Dietetics from a U.S. regionally accredited college, university, or foreign equivalent for new graduates after January 2024.
• ACEND‑accredited didactic program in dietetics.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with CDR credentials.
• Washington State Certified Dietitian credential (application must be submitted prior to start date).
• One year of experience in a clinic, primary care, outpatient, or community setting is preferred.
• New graduates may be grandfathered with a Bachelor’s Degree if credentialed prior to January 2024.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, including anthropometric and lab review, nutrition history, and identification of drug–nutrient interactions
• Use motivational interviewing to create individualized nutrition goals, considering cultural factors and social determinants that shape eating behaviors
• Provide evidence‑based nutrition care for a wide range of conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, CKD, GI disorders, cancer, food allergies, and obesity
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure patients receive coordinated, high‑quality nutrition support through both individual visits and group education
• Precept dietetic interns and students, develop training materials, and mentor clinical staff to support learning and professional development
• Support compliance with organizational procedures, FQHC quality metrics, WIC requirements, and clinical standards such as TJC and HRSA
• Stay connected to community demographics and resources, linking patients to supportive services and participating in outreach
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR, participate in care‑team meetings, and contribute to other clinic needs
