Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital seeks a Registered Dietitian to provide personalized medical nutrition therapy and counseling. You will develop care plans, document progress, and coordinate with the care team to optimize patient outcomes in a busy hospital setting.

The role is part-time with a shared weekend rotation (1 weekend per month or every 5 weeks); weekend shifts include Saturday/Sunday. Holidays are on-call and rotated among the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Dietitian (LD).
  • Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD).

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education and counseling to patients.
  • Implement nutrition care plans, communicate plans, and maintain documentation.
  • Initiate nutrient intake assessments and evaluate fluids, electrolytes and lab progress notes.

People seek guidance from a Registered Dietitian (RD) for many reasons, whether to maximize wellness, learn healthier eating habits or decrease the risk of chronic diseases. No matter the reason, you will help these patients develop personal diet plans to achieve their goals.

This is a part-time role. A caregiver in this position works a shared weekend rotation, 1 weekend per month or every 5 weeks. These weekend (Saturday/Sunday) requirements will be Holidays will be on-call only and be rotated.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education and counseling to patients.
  • Implement nutritional care plans, communicate plans, establish a follow-up system and maintain documentation.
  • Write changes for diet orders, initiate nutrient intake assessments, assess patients for nutritional deficiencies, evaluate fluids and electrolytes and review laboratory and clinical progress notes.
  • Inform physicians of patient nutritional status and need for diet changes.
  • Create and revise education materials, participate in program development and develop, implement and market services.
  • Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a related field
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Dietitian (LD)
  • Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in Clinical Nutrition OR successful completion of CCF Dietetic Internship Program
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to navigate extensively to provide services to a large number of patients throughout the hospital and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer entry.
  • Must have physical ability to measure and weigh patients.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $25.13

Maximum hourly: $38.33
