The Cleveland Clinic Digestive Disease & Surgery Institute (DDSI) is seeking a Registered Dietitian to deliver medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients while implementing and documenting nutrition care plans across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role also involves creating patient education materials, contributing to program development, and serving as a preceptor/instructor for dietetic internships. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm in a busy hospital environment.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics or a related field.
• Current licensure to practice dietetics in the state (LD).
• Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD).
• One year experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition; internship may substitute for experience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients.
• Implement nutritional care plans, communicate plans, establish a follow-up system, and maintain documentation.
• Write changes for diet orders, conduct nutrient assessments, evaluate fluids and electrolytes, review progress notes and inform physicians of nutrition status.
• Create and revise education materials, participate in program development, and develop, implement and market services.
• Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor.

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am to 4:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients.
• Implement nutritional care plans, communicate plans, establish a follow-up system, and maintain documentation.
• Write changes for diet orders, initiate nutrient intake assessments, assess patients for nutritional deficiencies, evaluate fluids and electrolytes, review laboratory and clinical progress notes and inform physicians of their patients’ nutritional status and need for diet changes.
• Create and revise education materials, participate in program development, and develop, implement and market services.
• Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics or a related field
• Current licensure to practice dietetics in the current state (LD)
• Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD)
• One year experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition
• *Successful completion of a Dietetic Internship Program may substitute for experience requirement

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to navigate extensively to provide services to a large number of patients throughout the hospital and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer entry.
• Must have physical ability to measure and weigh patients.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $52,270.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $79,727.50

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
