Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Etowah, TN is seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide nutrition assessments, education, and care coordination for both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role emphasizes evidence-based interventions and collaboration with the care team.

Starting salary is $70,000, negotiable based on experience, with long-term care experience preferred but not required. Benefits include paid CDR/licensure and up to 18 CEUs annually.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration and state licensure as required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or related field.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and computer literacy for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Complete nutritional assessments and interventions using evidence-based practices for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Educate patients, families, nursing, food service, and staff on nutritional needs.
• Document assessments and plans in the medical record with clear nutrition goals.
• Communicate with physicians and clinical staff about patients’ nutritional status.
• Manage physician orders for therapeutic diets and supplements.
• Attend rounds and help uphold clinical nutrition policies for regulatory compliance.
