ChristianaCare is seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian for Nutrition Services in Newark, DE. The role includes conducting nutritional assessments and providing counseling to patients with a variety of needs, including diabetes, cardiovascular health, and pregnancy nutrition.

You will work with school-based health centers one day per week and one day in a Middletown primary care office. The schedule totals 30 hours per week with varied daily shifts, and the team emphasizes patient-centered

Qualifications

Christiana Care is hiring a part-time Registered Dietitian for Nutrition Services in Newark, DE.

ChristianaCare's Nutrition Services team is dedicated to helping individuals achieve healthier lives through personalized nutrition counseling, education, and support. The practice serves patients with a wide range of nutritional needs, including diabetes management, cardiovascular health, weight loss, prenatal nutrition, food allergies, and digestive health concerns. Through a collaborative, patient-centered approach, the team develops individualized care plans that empower patients to make lasting lifestyle changes and improve their overall health.

As a Registered Dietitian on the team, you would average between 8-10 patients per day and flexible scheduling is offered.

This role also assists our school-based health centers 1 day a week as well as 1 day a week in a primary care office in Middletown.

Schedule

• Monday: 9:00am - 6:00pm
• Tuesday: 7:00am - 3:00pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am - 3:30 or 4:00pm
• Thursday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
• 30 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Performs in-depth nutritional assessments for patients at risk of or with a chronic disease, obesity, and those who are seeking bariatric surgery
• Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret scientific information to identify age‑specific needs and to provide the appropriate care and education
• Effectively communicates an evaluates diet history data through computer analysis
• Demonstrates skill and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.
• Provides individual counseling and group education.
• Maintains medical records according to HIPPA guidelines and third‑party billing guidelines.
• Design and present clinically accurate innovative presentations for other health care professionals and the community
• Participates in inter-disciplinary team meetings and patient care
• Reviews, evaluates, and utilizes current nutrition and chronic disease management research
• Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) required.
• Master’s Degree required after graduating in 2024, as required by Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) preferred or commitment to obtain within 2 years as necessary

Annual Compensation Range $64,376.00 - $103,001.60

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
