Overview

The Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU is hiring a full-time Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to support inpatient pediatric care, including general pediatrics, surgery, orthopedics, and otolaryngology. The role involves providing nutrition care, including nutrition support, with opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document nutrition care to pediatric patients.
• Support inpatient services such as gastroenterology, surgery, and general pediatrics.
• Order and manage enteral and parenteral nutrition as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams and educate staff and families.

Qualifications

• Registered as a Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field from an accredited institution.
• For Clinical Nutrition I: May be registry eligible, must pass RD exam within 6 months.
• For Clinical Nutrition II: One or more years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in an acute care setting.

Additional Requirements

• Maintain RD status and CPR certification.
• Work weekends and flexible hours, including evenings for outpatient roles.
• Travel to satellite clinics as needed.
• Adhere to the Code of Ethics and professional standards.

Physical and Other Requirements

• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
