Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian credential (CDR) is required.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Join our team and make a meaningful impact through compassionate, individualized nutritional care. We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Dietitian to support our Nutritional Services Department and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance the health and well-being of those we serve.

The Nutritional Services Department includes Foodservice, Registered Dietitian services, Expressions Tea and Gifts, and the Outpatient Specialty Clinic related to RD consults. Under the oversight of the Director of Nutritional Services, the Registered Dietitian will work collaboratively with Therapy Services and other departments to provide personalized nutritional care for individuals and patients seen in the Outpatient Clinic.

This role is committed to delivering services at the highest standard of professional practice while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations.

Essential Functions

• Provide therapeutic nutritional care to individuals living on campus under the supervision of the Director of Nutritional Services
• Conduct detailed nutritional assessments and provide recommendations to improve individual outcomes
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
• Perform staff in-services and training sessions
• Monitor food habits, preferences, allergies, and dietary needs of residents
• Train staff during New Employee Orientation on Safe Mealtime practices
• Maintain current diet orders and collaborate with other disciplines on Dining Plan development and revisions
• Review and approve home cooking programs involving meals and snacks
• Work closely with Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to provide individualized resident care
• Provide individualized treatment services in the specialty care clinic for applicable patients
• Complete required monitoring and documentation according to schedule
• Provide nutrition education to staff and residents in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Learn and follow all organizational policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Registered Dietitian credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Licensed by the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification for Dietitians and Nutritionists
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
