Job summary

Kahu Malama Nurses in Honolulu, HI is seeking a part-time Registered Dietitian to join a growing and dynamic team! This in-office role runs 3 days a week, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with a fixed pay rate of $38/hour. The position requires a RD credential, Hawaii LD license, and 2 years of clinical nutrition therapy experience.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, motivational interviewing, and time-management skills, and proficiency with EHR and MS Office. A CPR/BLS certification is preferred.

• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, nutrition billing guidelines, clinical regulations, and professional nutrition theories.
• Assess patient health risks, support health promotion initiatives, and provide clear, accessible nutrition education.
• Use motivational interviewing and strong interpersonal communication skills to encourage patient engagement and support positive health outcomes.
• Develop easy-to-understand patient education materials and communicate nutritional recommendations effectively.
• Identify and utilize appropriate community, professional, and educational resources to support patient care.
• Manage multiple patients and clinical priorities effectively while demonstrating strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, and members of the healthcare team.

Position Requirements

• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification preferred.
