Job summary

Kahu Malama Nurses in Honolulu, HI seeks a Registered Dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy and develop care plans. This in-office, part-time contract role requires 2 years of clinical nutrition experience (5 years preferred) and RD licensure in Hawaii. Schedule: Day shift, 9am–5pm, in-office 3 days/week. Salary is fixed at $38/hour.

Applicants must be punctual, skilled with EHR, and able to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Current Licensed Dietitian (LD) license in good standing with the State of Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical nutrition therapy and develop individualized nutritional care plans based on patient needs, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based practices.
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, nutrition billing guidelines, clinical regulations, and professional nutrition theories.
• Assess patient health risks, support health promotion initiatives, and provide clear, accessible nutrition education.
• Use motivational interviewing and strong interpersonal communication skills to encourage patient engagement and support positive health outcomes.
• Develop easy-to-understand patient education materials and communicate nutritional recommendations effectively.
• Identify and utilize appropriate community, professional, and educational resources to support patient care.
• Manage multiple patients and clinical priorities effectively while demonstrating strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, and members of the healthcare team.
