Job summary

Cura Hospitality is seeking a registered dietitian to join the healthcare team in New Brighton. You will assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions to maintain status, and enhance quality of life in line with patient goals.

This non-exempt role is hourly, working onsite in a hospital/long-term care setting. You will educate, collaborate with staff, and contribute to QA/QI initiatives to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have passed the national examination administered by the CDR or meets eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments and care planning.
• Ability to teach others pertaining to nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients/residents, staff or consultants.
• Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participate in development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

The Role At a Glance

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our healthcare team in New Brighton. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals. This is a non-exempt role and you will be paid hourly.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

Must-haves

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field.
• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.
