Job summary

Cura-Hospitality is seeking a registered dietitian to join our healthcare team in New Brighton. You will assess and address the nutritional needs of patients/residents and implement interventions to maintain nutritional status and quality of life.

You will educate staff and collaborate across departments while adhering to standards and regulations. This is a full-time onsite role with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Passed the CDR national exam or eligible per Academy requirements.
• Completes 75 hours CE every five years as per CDR requirements.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to care teams and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Follow Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards of practice and facility requirements.
• Collaborate with departments to set up procedures for dining services and nutrition.

The Role At a Glance

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our healthcare team in New Brighton. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals. This is a non-exempt role and you will be paid hourly.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

Must-haves

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field.
• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.
