Job summary

Southwest Foodservice Excellence (SFE) is hiring a Registered Dietitian in Grand Prairie, TX. You will develop USDA-compliant menus, supervise nutrition operations, and ensure meal programs meet federal, state, and local rules.

You’ll collaborate with district leaders to improve meal quality and student participation and travel across the assigned school district to provide onsite support and guidance. RD credential and current licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential with an active license in good standing.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned school district.

Responsibilities

• Developing USDA-compliant menus to maximize use of commodities, reduce costs, and boost participation.
• Ensure all breakfast, lunch, snack, and summer programs meet USDA/state/local rules.
• Conduct site reviews and audits to evaluate compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Manage menu analysis, nutrition documentation, production records, and reports.
• Support students with special diets, allergies, and dietary accommodations.
• Train school nutrition teams on menu software, recipes, production records, and standards.
• Plan and support student engagement events like taste tests and health fairs.
• Provide nutrition education and resources for students, families, and staff.
• Assist the General Manager with initiatives to improve meal quality and participation.
• Travel across the district to provide onsite support and guidance.

What You'll Do

As the Registered Dietitian, you'll partner with district leadership and school teams to ensure successful, compliant, and innovative meal programs by:

• Developing USDA-compliant menus that maximize commodity utilization, control food costs, and increase student participation.
• Ensuring all breakfast, lunch, snack, and summer meal programs meet USDA, state, and local regulations.
• Conducting site reviews and audits to evaluate compliance and implement corrective action plans.
• Managing menu analysis, nutritional documentation, production records, and compliance reporting.
• Supporting students with medically required special diets, food allergies, and dietary accommodations.
• Training school nutrition teams on menu software, recipe management, production records, and nutrition standards.
• Planning and supporting student engagement initiatives including taste tests, farmers markets, health fairs, and nutrition promotions.
• Providing nutrition education and resources for students, families, and school staff.
• Assisting the General Manager with operational initiatives that improve meal quality, participation, and program performance.
• Traveling throughout the assigned district to provide onsite support and guidance.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential with an active license in good standing.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned school district.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in K-12 school nutrition, healthcare, foodservice, or institutional dining.
• Experience with USDA Child Nutrition Programs and menu planning.
• Knowledge of menu analysis software and production record systems.
